While the full-screen front model has recently become quite popular, most full-screen implementations are on high-end and mid-range models. So what’s the low-end? As per the new patent, Xiaomi seems to have a pretty nifty fix in the works.
The listing reveals a mobile model with a front-facing camera in the front panel’s top corner. At first, the cutout looks smaller than the current implementation of punch-hole and some of the pictures also indicate that cutouts are not even needed.
At first it may seem a little odd, but if double front-facing cameras become a more common thing, the approach of Xiaomi seems logical enough.
