The new entry-level Redmi 8 and 8A are now available in their home market of China after making their respective debuts in India. In the screen and design areas, the two entry-level phones are mostly distinct.
The Redmi 8 uses the latest Aura Wave Glass model that began with the Redmi K20 while the Aura Wave Grip plastic look opts for the 8A. The monitors for the selfie cam of 8MP are similar 6.22-inch HD+ displays with notches.
The parallels continue with the extension of microSD with the 12 nm Snapdragon 439 chipset with 3/4 GB RAM and 32/64 GB space.
The two smartphones share the 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor around the back, but the Redmi 8 comes with a supplementary 2MP depth support and fingerprint reader. The power of the battery on both devices is 5,000 mAh with support for easy 18W charging.
The Redmi 8 is already available and will set back customers for the 3/32 GB edition CNY 799 ($113) while the 4/64 GB variant will go for CNY 899 ($127).
