A new device is preparing to join the series K Oppo following the K3 just a few months. The K5 Oppo will always be a daycare by the looks of things, but as the name suggests will sit above the K3 in the list of Chinese society.
The Oppo PCNM00 phone with model number has been certified for sale in China by TENAA, the relevant regulatory body, and it is rumored to be the handset that will end up being marketed as Oppo K5.
The certification process has given us some pictures of the phone and a bunch of specifications. K5 should boast a 1080×2340 6.4 inch touch screen integrated with a fingerprint sensor, a processor octa-core 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, and a battery of 3920 mAh which will support the new flash charge 30W VOOC 4.0. It runs Android Pie 9 ColorOS with the latest on top.
There are four cameras in the back: 64 + 8 + 2 MP MP MP MP + 2, and a cord for selfies 32MP. Although there are no other details about them, we can deduce that the 64 MP cam is the main, with the 8 MP being either ultra telephoto, while one of the 2MP shooters could be a macro dedicated cam while the other would be a depth sensor. This provision seems familiar, like the upcoming Realme X2 has been rumored to get it too. In fact, it seems that the X2 and K5 can be roughly the same device with different brands.
K5 dimensions are 158.7 × 75.2 × 8.6mm and weighs 182g. It will be available in green, blue and white, at least in the Chinese market. The phone is expected to become official next month.
