Microsoft is returning to the Android Market on September 10 with Surface Duo Launch, Details?

Finally, Microsoft has announced it will return to the Android. The company today announced in a blog post that the Microsoft Surface Duo will be launched globally on September 10, at a starting price of around $1,399. The device is Microsoft’s dual-screen smartphone powered by Android, which was announced last year.

The displays are built to function like multiple displays on a Windows computer system which, while being a mobile gadget, gives it a more PClike feel. The mobile has a rear 11-megapixel camera which supports 4 K video recording. This camera can be used on the Surface Duo both for regular imaging and video calls.

Microsoft Says

  • Mobile Productivity Powered by two screens
  • 360 degree flexible smartphone
  • Designed by Surface
  • Best of Microsoft 360 together with Android apps

The Surface Duo has a 360 degree hinge, like many convertible laptops(Lappy), which allows users to fold the gadget. Unlike Samsung’s foldable mobiles, however, this one just has two separate displays — two 5.6-inch optical diode light emitting displays (OLED) with 4:3 aspect ratios. They collectively render a single 8.1-inch form factor with a resolution of 2700 * 1800 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2.

The Surface Duo has the Qualcomm 855 Snapdragon chipset, 6 GB RAM and up to 256 GB of ram. The Snapdragon 855 is Qualcomm’s flagship from last year, while storage and RAM are as much as current requirements.

Some Quick Specifications

  • 3G, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, IR Blaster.
  • Snapdragon 855, Octa Core, 2.8 GHz Processor.
  • 6 GB RAM
  • 3577 mAh Battery with Fast Charging.
  • Foldable Display, Dual Display.
  • Price – $1,399
  • Processor – Snapdragon 855
  • Storage – 128GB, 256GB both are available
  • weight – 8.8 oz; 250g
  • Camera – 11 MP
  • 4K Quality Video Recording

True the specifications might not matter if the software features nicely enough for Microsoft to tun. Since the days Microsoft last battled in this space, the Android operating system itself has come a great distance, which means a Snapdragon 855 processor might not be a bummer at all.

What is perhaps extra attention-grabbing is how the 3577 mAh battery will perform at power with two displays. Mobiles flagship j.
